Forget Resolutions, Think about The Now

It is so easy to sit down once a year and write out New Year's resolutions. But what if we did this every single day. Could you honestly sit there and say that your resolutions might be applicable to your life even 6 months down the road? We live in a world where change is a constant and we need to embrace it. The current moment is all that we have. If we woke up every day and said a couple of things we could work on for that day, then imagine how much we can create in our lives.

Daily Goals

I am a big supporter of To Do Lists and daily goals. To be honest, those daily goals are more achievable than yearly goals for me. Because each day I can write down a few things that I need to focus on and make sure that I am investing my energy into those goals. Over time, that focused energy on small goals will help build you up to achieving long-term goals. When we pay close attention to the larger long-term goals on a constant basis, it sometimes overshadows all of the small details that are required for success and prosperity.

Now don't think that your goals need to be based solely on money or businesses. I'm even talking about goals regarding fitness, mental health and so on. For example, maybe you want to focus on not allowing stressful external circumstances to affect you as much. Start your day by writing down techniques that you can use to avoid allowing those stressful moments to change how you feel throughout the day.

Tools to Help You Succeed

  1. To-Do Lists are a great way to write down in detail what you want to achieve for the day. I have a 5-Star spiral notebook that I carry around with me and it is filled with my daily To-Do Lists. I am able to break up my day so I can notably be productive, but it helps me to start my day laying out my goals and then achieving them throughout the day.
  2. Daily Planners are another awesome tool to help you stay on top of your goals and to break down step by step how you will be achieving these goals. For example, my daily planner helps me achieve success with my blog because I will write down my goals each day and remind myself how I want to achieve those goals in an organized and precise manner.
  3. Phone Alerts & Reminders help you structure and carve out time in your day to achieve those goals that you had set earlier in the day. Sometimes we get caught up in other things and our goals slip our mind. I love to set alerts in my phone to remind me to get those goals done before the day is through.

I've seen positive changes when I decided to incorporate all of these tools and techniques into my life. These small daily goals helped me work towards a bigger picture and to be honest, making sure that I focused on the small details encouraged me to stay committed to my goals. Sometimes those bigger goals and big picture ideas can be overwhelming and extremely terrifying (at least for me). So start small and watch everything grow and flourish over time.

Happy New Year and I pray that all of your goals are achieved and that your dreams come to fruition. Love & Light.
