Triggers on Triggers

Time & Patience are our true allies

These past few days I have been experiencing some heavy triggers dude. Like HEAVY. Obviously there are some strong, transformational energies around us right now and I have noticed that I have kind of gotten carried away with giving into those triggers. I have to remind myself that I am human and emotions are natural.

One thing that I have been trying to be aware of during this intense time period is how to transcend and rise above the triggers. And let me tell you, it takes a lot of reflection and patience. I feel like I still have some triggers from past traumas and hurts, so sometimes reliving those memories or even thoughts can be difficult. Sometimes we experience triggers that open up our eyes to how we must grow and evolve.

So the big question is...how do we maintain our composure while experiencing triggers?! I think the main thing we all need to remember is that triggers cause an upheaval of emotions. Now, you need to remember emotions are just temporary. So when you experience a rollercoaster of emotions or you just feel consumed with anger, sadness, or jealousy, just remember to acknowledge those emotions. I personally like to say something along the lines of this, "Okay, I feel tense and irritable right now. I am experiencing these emotions because of.....". When I am honest and real with myself about what I am feeling and what is causing that emotion, I start to heal.

"The people who trigger us to feel negative emotions are messengers. They are messengers for the unhealed parts of our being" - Teal Swan

The more you take the time to program your mind to be aware of the triggers as they arise, the more in control you will be with your healing process. Everything in life revolves around awareness and communication. Once you incorporate the simple technique of being aware, you will notice how easy it is to keep that technique going.

Be patient with yourself. Take the time to really understand that triggers are a natural part of life and there is actually a positive side to experiencing triggers. Triggers are a part of growth and life is a constant growth process. I hope you overcome your triggers and live in your truth, because beautiful things will emerge as you do so.
